| Looking around at Zcon and various other meets.. there are some really great examples out there. Granted they are driven by people who would probably never sell them and who don't care what the trade in value is. The people who are selling the nice ones, do so because they have to.. whether it is because they just bought a Viper or they have a kid on the way. So I see, for the most part, only motivated sellers of once high value Zs. Since the great examples are being held onto, and the beat up lower value ones are being passed around by high schoolers, the NADA value is lower than it should be. This means that it is harder to get a loan to purchase a perfect one that is priced properly. The other part of this is that the Z32 has a replacemant in the form of a lower quality 350Z that has sold tons of units. The value of these is going down to the area once reserved for nice Z32s 16-18k. Currently, most people prefer the new Z only because it is newer. With time, I think we will see the value of 350Zs fall below the Z32s. Partially because there are so many of them and partially because they are falling apart. When this happens, the value of pristine Z32s will begin to go up. I see the 350z as a perfect replacement for the 240sx. In 5-10 years they will be priced accordingly
